TK's simple guide to the South Sydney Rabbitohs fantasy prospects for 2025.
After years of success they finally hit a hurdle on a combination of player unrest, coaching changes and major injuries impacting the team. Uncle Wayne Bennett returns and they have signed well without over doing it. The ever reliable Euan Aitken will add depth into the back row however the other signings in Dodd, Hubner, Humphreys, Schuster and Sullivan could be a boom or a bust in their weekly impact on the team.
Prediction - Trell Mitt will have to play 20+ games for them to sneak into the 8
Rabbitohs 2025 Player Movements
2025 Gains |
Euan Aitken (The Dolphins, 2027), Lewis Dodd (St Helens Saints, 2027), Lachlan Hubner (The Dolphins, 2026), Jamie Humphreys (Manly Sea Eagles, 2026), Josh Schuster (Manly Sea Eagles, 2025), Jayden Sullivan (Wests Tigers, 2027) |
2025 Loses |
Thomas Burgess (Huddersfield Giants), Damien Cook (St George Illawarra Dragons), Jacob Gagai (Huddersfield Giants), Dean Hawkins (Parramatta Eels), Lachlan Ilias (St George Illawarra Dragons), Taane Milne (Huddersfield Giants), Leon Te Hau (Brisbane Tigers), Izaac Thompson (Canberra Raiders) |

Players unavailable for round 1 - Cameron Murray, Alex Johnston, Tevita Tatola, Euan Aitken.
Injuries to Murray, Johnston, Tatola and Aitken leaves the team a little undermanned for round 1. A wing spot is up for grabs as is the starting middle rotation. Humphrys would be pushing hard for a bench role, but will depend on how Bennett wishes to balance his bench.
The Draw and Game Day Squad
Byes - round 15, 19, 24
Game Day Squad allows a true focus on weekly match ups. Trell Mitt in the match up's below could make or break your week but its always worth the punt cause when he goes large, its very large.

NRL Fantasy perspective
Another team with a later first bye in round 12 which is the first bye round, however the team plays 15 and 18 and 17 of the first 18 games so if you want Bunnies players go early.
Fantasy relevant players for round 1 - Latrell Mitchell, Tyron Munro, Isaiah Tass, Tallis Duncan, Keon Koloamatangi, Peter Mamazolous
2025 NRL Fantasy Fortunes (slide across to view full notes)
Player | Price | NRL Fantasy Av | GameDay Squad Av | Notes |
Latrell Mitchell | $800K | 59.7 | 67.6 | A lot of variables here. Looks in the best shape of his career to begin the season. His 59.7 av was an unorthodox role which will likely see him revert back to his traditional FB role. Likely lose KM to Dodd and his TA could see a small decline. I would be more interested if $50k cheaper where I see more value in Ponga. |
Cameron Murray | $737K | 55.5 | 51.7 | Likely out to start the season. Avoid for early season but keep an eye on. |
Euan Aitken | $700K | 52.5 | 53 | Out to start the season. Loses centre tag which where his value really did lie. Avoid |
Keon Koloamatangi | $692K | 51.8 | 51.5 | Had a 58.4 av in 70.1 mins starting a lock. Track the news on Murray as he could make some good money early in the season. Consider if named at lock but given Murray looks ahead of schedule I would avoid here. |
Jamie Humphreys | $350K | 46 | 49.2 | 1 starting game at halfback has inflated his av. Would be looking at a bench utility role at the Bunnies. 20 games in NSW Cup for a 37.4 av. Even with his big guns, would be an avoid here. |
Jai Arrow | $607K | 45.5 | 46.2 | Another knocked around with injuries. Has relevance if fully fit. Games over 70 mins he averages 50.2, so has a small upside. If he retains a dual would definitely consider. |
Jai Gray | $545K | 40.8 | 49.1 | Proved his relevance when filling in at fullback for Trell. At full strength unlikely to be in the team. NSW Cup 4 games for a 51.4 average. Watchlist |
Jack Wighton | $550K | 39.3 | 39.7 | The arrival of Dodd will see him move back out to the centres. In the centres he only averages 30.3. Even if the team fires a 39 average it is hard to see any upside that support a round1 buy. Avoid |
Cody Walker | $515K | 38.6 | 39.9 | Aging player on the decline. Just doesn't have the stats to be relevant. Avoid |
Tevita Tatola | $475K | 34.5 | 34.1 | Out to start the season. Avoid for early season |
Tallis Duncan | $451K | 33.8 | 33.2 | 47 average when starting 5 games on the edge. Would be in the mix with Host for a starting role. Is a buy if he wins a starting role. |
Davy Moale | $432K | 32.4 | 32.7 | Found consistency as a starter in 2024. Biggest question is his motor. Averaged 38.8 mins with a up side of 55 mins. Would need to push consistently in the 50-55 min range to be relevant. Watchlist |
Sean Keppie | $390K | 29.2 | 27.4 | Will likely start with Tatola on the sidelines. Priced at his upside so no need to chase. Avoid |
Fletcher Myers | TBA | 29.2 | 29.5 | Had a solid back end to the year. Is priced at his potential. 12 NSW Cup games for a 36.7 av. Avoid |
Richie Kennar | TBA | 29 | 28 | Another priced at potential. 5 NSW cup games for a 22.8 av. Avoid |
Jacob Host | $381K | 28.6 | 26.9 | The great enigma. 11 starts on an edge in 2024 saw a 34 av so he has upside. Will never have huge upside and given how hard he is too watch at time, let his one go. Avoid |
Alex Johnston | $360K | 27 | 30.3 | Out to start the season. Avoid for early season |
Siliva Havili | $342K | 25.6 | 25.1 | Bench player with inconsistent minutes. Won't be relevant for round 1. |
Dion Teaupa | TBA | 25.3 | 29 | Back up half unllikely to see much relevant NRL game time. NSW Cup had a good year with 14 games for a 44.5 av. Avoid |
Tyron Munro | $300K | 25 | 27.5 | Injury pleagued season. When he scores tries has some decent numbers. If you back the Bunnies to put some points on has limited down side. Consider as a round 1 Buy for the emergency |
Gehamat Shibasaki | TBA | 24 | 27.2 | Back up at best. Avoid |
Peter Mamouzelos | $319K | 23.9 | 22.6 | Only 3 starts over his career for a 50.3 av. Likely to play atleast 50 minutes so will make good money. NSW Cup he had 6 games for a 48.8 av. BUY but won't be a pod. |
Shaq Mitchell | $318K | 23.8 | 22.1 | Another in the mix to start with the injuries in the MID. 3 games over 40 minutes has a 43 average. If he starts he could make some money here. |
Isaiah Tass | $325K | 22.1 | 21.4 | Was relevant as a centre in 2023 with a 37.1 av. Struggled moving side of the field an position. Priced at a 22 average if Souths can get firing, could make some money here. Can take either him or Munro for the emergency. |
Lachlan Hubner | $250K | 16.3 | 13.9 | Arrives from the Phins where he had limited opprotunities. More likely for the bench so unlikely to be relevant. 18 games of Qcup for a 48.6 av. Keep on the watchlist in case of further injuries. |
Liam Le Blanc | TBA | 14 | 14.4 | Limited NRL opportunities but another middle who would be pressing given the injuries. NSW Cup 12 games for a 36.2 average. |
Matthew French | TBA | 10 | 10.9 | Another young middle coming through the ranks. 20 games of NSW Cup for a 39.4 av. |
Lewis Dodd | $550K | 0 | 0 | Comes from a very succesful St Helens system. Big difference in quality of teams across the NRL and Super League. Did not appear in the top 20 for tries or TA in 2024. Way to expensive to consider for round 1 but keep on the watchlist. |
Josh Schuster | $400K | 0 | 0 | Did not play a single NRL game in 2024 as he struggled with his fitness. Career second row av of 47.4 so has relevance if he can jag a starting role. NSW Cup he had 4 games for 35 av. Buy if he starts, otherwise watchlist. |
Campbell Graham | $580K | 0 | 0 | Returns from injury. Averaged 44.4 in 2023 but much time has passed. Let his comeback playout. |
Jayden Sullivan | $500K | 43.3 | 40.6 | Will likely be behind Dodd for the 7 spot putting him more in competition for a bench role. In 5 games starting at halfback he has a 52.4 av so has some relevance at the right time. Watchlist |
Thomas Fletcher | $230K | 0 | 0 | Young back rower on the rise. Still way off NRL. Avoid |
Benjamin Lovett | $250K | 0 | 0 | Depth player only. Avoid |
