Matt Lodge enters 2021 at the very reasonable $390k, BE 29 and low ownership of 6.9%. This back of an injury disrupted 2020 where he only played 6 games due to a partial tear of his ACL.
From his first two trials of 2021, Lodge looks fit and focused. With Payne Haas suspended for the first three games, Lodge has three games to prove to new coach Kevin Walters that he is an alpha dog of the forward pack.
Let’s not remember Lodge has a good track record. In 2019 he averaged 50 coming from 56 minutes played. He had some great base stats with an average of 29 tackles, 3.5 tackle breaks and 156 metres.
He has a career PPM of 0.87 and early on will likely see 45-50 minutes as a starting prop. With these minutes and a return to full fitness I am projecting around a 45 average.
At a breakeven of 29 there is easy money to be made and Lodge is a nice little pick up at the back end of track to given a consistent mid 40’s score which is great for a player picked up late in a draft.
